What is it to be a CHRISTIAN?

the true definition of a christian is to be Christ like. what is it to be Christ like?
in my radio lessons lately some of the words have been on Paul, in the book of Romans. he seems to talk in circles, i got lost trying to follow sometimes; but the point was we are human and we are in constant struggle to be Christ like. Does that mean we give up because we are mere humans or to STAND (another word that has been given to me many times this last week which today marks 1 week without my youngest).
So Paul had a great turn in his live when he chose to follow Christ. He had to Repent. Pastor Brian speaks on repentance in the words to follow at the end.

Remember to ASK to be filled with HIS Spirit each morning for we can not do it alone! we need HIM and His spirit. It is the GOD HEAD 3 in 1
I heard and accept the word that Jesus could not do it on His own. He too had to be anointed with the Holy spirit. Baptized not just in water but with the Holy Spirit. The lesson spoke of Jesus not being able to do miracles without the Holy Spirit. It wasn't Jesus and it was the God Head 3 in 1 that accomplished miracles. Christ was perfect, and we can strive to be perfect and hope for excellence that's good enough for me. the saying is that practice makes perfect, i will practice being as Christ was so that i may find excellence.

The Character of God in repentance

Then Job answered the LORD and said: ‘I know that You can do everything and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. You asked ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. Listen, please and let me speak; You said ‘I will question you and you shall answer me. ‘ I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes. “
Job 42: 1-6 (NKJV)

Prayer Focus: Job learned quickly that there was no room for arrogance or misinterpretation of true repentance. As he was confronted by the God of the Universe, his only response was to meekly take back everything he thought he knew-and then sit on ashes to think about God’s powerful attributes even more! God peppered Job with simple questions about His creation. Job immediately knew that in the presence of the Almighty God, the quicker the repentance the better. Job most likely didn’t mean to be arrogant in his observations, but his questions were nevertheless an affront to God. If God repeatedly calls His people to repentance, it is arrogant for us to try to present a more “softened” approach. If God created hell as a place for the unrepentant, then we had better not lessen the reality by teaching only part of the gospel message. Repentance is important to God, and so our lives ought to be marked by deeply repentant hearts and attitudes toward Him.

Worship God for His character and mighty attributes.
Thank God that He loves us in spite of our humanness.
Confess the ways you have taken the message of repentance lightly and tried to soften the reality.
Read Job 38-42 and invite the Lord to give you a right perspective of His power and majesty.
Pray that leaders in our church will walk in true humility and a deep reverence for the Lord.
Pray that the message of repentance to the lost in our community will not be compromised.
