Age

let's do something different
it is Halloween isn't it. the day of the dead in mexico
an evil celebration or cerebrating evil i have always felt that even when i was a young thing. (child) I am still young., LOL

"Age is But a Number" i use to always say. Use to being the key phrase.
i remember my 21st Bday Do YOU?
my friends were OLDER yes 25 !! :}
they, being the good friends that they were, run up to the front and got in before me. Each 1 got carded. Now who's 21 st Bday? yes~ mine * and who didn't get carded? I don't !! it just bugged. i looked older than them? Please :(
then 25 UGH a quarter of a century. Killer~ Hated it ~Depressed.
then 26? ah notha, didn't phase me a bit.
30's no big deal. 40's I'm cool I'm Hip Yeah i don't look 40 something, I have young kids I fit in. Yeah my friends were all about 10 years younger, almost 8 i'm sure. Point= Something happened, middle child turned 13, the mouth that can go with it came, she's Half Angel half evil (she is so much like me, poor thing )
then I turned 49 ugh
:0 yes that's a mouth opened wide; dropped jaw; okay ~ a screaming old fart!
age is no longer a number! it's gray hair and wrinkles. don't talk about the eyes, worsening body functions of all kids, the weight gain, oh and am i lazy or old?
Maybe just whacked. LOL
Don't know what brought that all on but probably "Halloween".
Here's my view AND DON'T TELL ME IT'S INNOCENT!!
Since when were cut off hands or other limbs of purity or Good which i equate to GOD
Why would a pure thing, a soul made to be righteous in our Heavenly Fathers Eyes, for our acceptance of HIM, dress like the Evil One? or any of his goonies for that matter. Get a Grip! To me~ that is Not FUN
I have always been a very spiritual being. Filled with THE Spirit since the AGE of 12.. And Halloween was never fun for me. I always thought it was of the Evil.
Why as a parent would i send my sweet, precious gifts from God, out and tell them to knock on the doors of strangers to receive CANDY? Didn't i try to teach them, and still do to this day, "Stay away from strangers" "If you don't know them stay away" "don't talk to older men stay away"
So now they are to eat all this CAndy? in a day? maybe a week? so that cavities could take hold of the teeth that God gave them to use for survival? UM weight gain an issue?
NO i don't lie about the easter bunny or Old St Nick either. He was a saint by the way. a real man of God, doing good works for HIS kingdom, as it started anyway.
So you say you lie to your kids but punish them if they lie to you and teach them it's okay to raise your family in a lie?
Let me get this Straight you not only lie to your children about Santa or the Easter Bunny, you want your kids to be taught that Easter is for New Beginnings of Spring and even MORE CANDY OH yeah and a bunny can do what?
So i am suppose to lie, tell my kids it's okay to go knock on strangers door and eat the candy, and more is coming for thanksgiving and christmas, remember Easter UM UM Chocolate!!
AGE~ I am getting old. You know how stubborn those old Granny's are. They are one track minded and it better be minded just like theirs LOL I crack myself up

Well I chose Christ as my Savior today and any other Day, He rose on the 3rd day so i will continue to Celebrate the New Beginning I was Given, & I will Celebrate that On Easter without the Bunny but Definitely the Seder Meal (you know the last supper, there can be candy and hiding of the unleavened bread too with gifts) but that is on Passover.
I am ever so Thankful that Christ died so that I could receive the Holy Spirit and fellowship with my creator. i will celebrate that every day thru eternity but enjoy PUMPKINS, Pie, Bread, COOKIES, KLANG you out there???? baking????? Hungry!! :)
and Christmas the GIFT of LIFE HIMSELF on what a celebration it should be, but about HIM not you or yours the $ spent on others without mention of HIM at each purchase, shame SOrry a little loud on that one. but it stays.

so it's not my age i just don't like halloween and have locked myself in my bedroom with the lights out and the doors locked :) BOO!

Agreed that our children should be children of the Light in all areas. When I remember Halloween, coming from a quasi-Christian home growing up, it was a time where we just went around getting candy. We did fun, scary stuff w/ our house. Had a good time. BUT, when I was a child, I did as a child... I really didn't know better b/c I was told this was all in fun. When I grew up in my faith and realized what playing around w/ things of Satan meant, I abandoned those things. They have become diplorable to me. My kids didn't do the trick or treat thing, and no, they weren't deprived. Did things w/ church that gave them something fun, but more importantly gave glory to God.

It is a dark time of year. If you have any sense of things spiritual, you'll know what I'm talking about. It's not like Satan has his reign during this time and God backs off so he can. It's more like people back off from anything that's godly and Satan gets to come to the forefront. It's our choice. We get to choose who has preeminence in our lives. Just need to change the focus. Every Halloween I remember the verse: "This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it." Every day is GOD's day. Let's step up for Him.

Long comment, I know. It's not old age that causes this point of view. It's maturity in Christ. Growing older in Him causes us to put away the things of an immature child of God. The question is: do you want to mature in God or forever be a milk-sucking child? 13 year old needs to think about that. :o)
