God’s Covenant of Peace

“I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of wild beasts, so that they may live in the desert and sleep in the forests in safety. I will bless them and the places surrounding my hill. I will send down showers in seasons; there will be showers of blessing.

Ezekiel 34:25-26

Prayer Focus: God so desires to be in relationship with His people, providing peace, safety, and showers of blessings,. He offers a covenant of peace that reflects a place of safety in the land, even in the wilderness. But God’s covenants are conditional in that we play a role in their fulfillment. Prior to this promise of peace, God speaks directly to the spiritual leaders who have allowed their people to live as scattered sheep. They have stood by and preserved their own lives while people in their care are weak, sick, lost, and prey for wild animals. Leaders are accountable to lead their people into places of safety and blessings through restored relationship with God. Then our homes will reflect God’s blessings to our communities and we will be overwhelmed with God’s gracious provisions in proportion to our needs.

· Worship God as the restorer of peace and the provider of blessings.
· Repent for not being broken over those who live outside of relationship with God as hurt and lost sheep.
· Invite God to renew His covenant of peace in your life by revealing how to live in right relationship with Him.
· Pray that the leaders in our churches will take seriously their role in the spiritual care of their congregation.
· Pray that the homes of believers in our community will be known as holy places of hope and peace.
· Invite God to pour out His showers of blessings at just the moment when you need them! Acknowledge that He can be trusted to provide for all your needs.
